Lawyers strike against police

Published January 19, 2002

SAHIWAL, Jan 18: Lawyers of the local Bar association on Friday observed a strike against the partial attitude of the officials of Fateh Sher police station.

Afzal, Akram, Ashiq and a woman seriously injured their neighbours — Nasrullah and his brother over some dispute in Bhutto Nagar. Mumtaz Nargana advocate, brother of the injured persons, asked the Fateh Sher police to register a case, but they did not. Upon this, Nargana, who is also a tehsil council member and the local DBA executive, informed the lawyers about the incident.

The strike by lawyers forced the police to register a case against the accused persons.
