PESHAWAR, Sept 14: NWFP Boxing Association has asked the government to announce incentive and cash awards for the medal winners of boxers who won gold and silver medals in the recently-concluded Asian Boxing Championship, said Waqar Maroof, the association’s president while addressing a press conference on Wednesday.

Waqar claimed that winning three gold and silver at Asian level competition is great achievement of Pakistanis pugilists.

He announced gold medals on behalf of NWFP Amateur Boxing Association for the four pugilists who have won medals in the Asian Championship and also announced special Sarhad Award for Professor Anwar Chaudhry in recognitions of his services in the field of boxing.

The ceremony in this connection will be held during the national boxing championship which is scheduled in Peshawar from Nov 26-28.
