PESHAWAR: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has cleared the Swat Motorway phase-II land acquisition PC-I and it is likely to get the approval of the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (Ecnec) in its next meeting.
A statement issued here said that a progress review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan was informed that next meeting of the Ecnec scheduled for July 6 was likely to approve the PC-I.
It said that the meeting also reviewed progress on feasibility study of Peshawar-Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project.
The meeting was informed that work on the completion of Swat Motorway phase-I was in the final stages and work on the construction of road base, main tunnels and bridges had been completed.
It was stated that the remaining work was expected to be completed by the end of August this year.
The meeting was told that work on these projects was affected due to the prevailing Covid-19 emergency.
However, things have been mobilised again and work is in full swing, the statement said.
It said that physical progress on the projects as per the new timelines was being ensured.
