Pakistan reported 2,761 new Covid-19 cases on June 29 — the first time the countrywide tally went below the 3,000 mark since May 31.

On May 31, 14,993 tests were conducted, out of which 2,785 came back positive whereas 23,009 tests were conducted on June 29, of which 2,761 turned out positive.

The positive development, however, has enhanced the worries of the decision-makers, as they fear that people might stop taking precautionary measures against the highly contagious virus with the slight improvement in the situation.
