HYDERABAD, Sept 12: Four activists of the All-Pakistan Mohajir Students Organization and Islami Jamiat-i-Tuleba received injuries in a clash in the Government College Kali Mori on Monday.

They were identified as Saad Hussain and Junaid of the APMSO and IJT’s Ahmed Mazhoor and Ashraf.

The Pinyari police said non-cognisable offence reports had been registered on the complaints of the two groups.

Police said the incident took place after both the sides exchanged hot words over a book fair stall, established by the IJT outside the college.

Police said the principal of the college as well as police had rejected application of the IJT for the same yet it was set up.

The injured were issued medical letters by police and one of the injured Ahmed Mazhoor was admitted to the civil hospital where the MMA president and JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed inquired after his health.

CASE: Anti-terrorism Court judge Syed Ali Ashraf Shah on Monday transferred a case against ADP UC nazim candidate of UC-4 city, Jiando Soomro to the Sessions Court on an a defence plea.

Advocate Allah Bachayo Soomro filed an application before the court under section 23 of the Anti Terrorism Act arguing that sessions 6/7 of the Anti Terrorism Act should not have been included in the FIR because no incident of terrorist activity had taken place in the jurisdiction of Market police station on August 25.

He argued the case was lodged and challenged before the ATA court though it was not schedule offence under the ATA.

He said it was purely a case of political nature and given the fact that the accused was in police custody the police should not have incorporated ATA sections in the FIR.

He said people who were alleged to have attacked the police station did not possess weapons as according to police they pelted stones on the police station.

He said it was done by police to save their own skin.

The court ordered transfer of the case to Sessions court from his jurisdiction.
