LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department on Wednesday issued promotion of class-1 to 8 students to next classes without holding any examination.

Earlier, the government had closed all public and private schools in the province in March due to Covid-19 pandemic and also had cancelled all the examinations.

Punjab Minister for School Education Murad Raas tweeted “All students in Punjab Public and Private Schools have been promoted to next classes without Annual Examinations due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation”.

According to a notification available with Dawn, “In pursuance to approval of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Committee meeting, the students up to class-8 of public and private schools are hereby promoted to next higher class without annual examination in the wake of coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).”
