RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) organised a seminar to share details about the proposed Ring Road project with the business community. Emphasising on the importance of the project, RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza said that the government had initiated work on it and Prime Minister Imran Khan envisions that Ring Road Rawalpindi will set a new horizon for development of the city.

“Ring Road will be a major pull factor for growth of the city in the southern west. Establishment of special economic zones along the road will steer development and growth of the city towards modern town planning practices. It will change the skyline and decongest the city and help to control the unchecked urban sprawl, which has been affecting Rawalpindi for many decades,” he added, requesting stakeholders to follow the land use plan, prepared for development along Ring Road and take it as an opportunity to contribute to the planned development of Rawalpindi.

“Traders and businessmen will benefit from this project, he said.

At the end, a question and answer session was held. Concerns and suggestions of all stakeholders, especially the business community were taken into account, which will be incorporated in the project to make it more beneficial.
