LARKANA, Sept 10: Sindh Minister Haji Altaf Unnar has said that the Khushhal Pakistan Panel will win the post of the Larkana district nazim as it enjoyed majority. Speaking at a press conference at the circuit house on Saturday, he claimed support of 300 councillors and said many more would join the KPP.

He said with the nomination of Mohammed Bakhsh Arijo as KPP candidate for Larkana district nazim post, differences among the PML-Q groups had died.

He said Dr Mujtaba Samtio and Shafqat Unnar of the PML-Q were nominated for seats of taluka nazim Bakrani and Dokri, respectively.

Qurban Abbasi, a KPP candidate for Larkana taluka nazim said, Masood Khuhro was with them.

He was optimistic about getting the support of Sardar Mumtaz Khan Bhutto.

On the occasion, Ali Gul Sangi, a nazim of Awam Dost Panel (ADP) elected from UC Fatehpur (Larkana-rural) changing his loyalty joined the Khushhal Pakistan Panel.

He criticized former district nazim Khursheed Junejo for not allocating funds to rural union councils.

Meanwhile, another Awam Dost panel nazim Ghaffar Brohi elected from UC Khando, Qambar-Shahdadkot district, Warah taluka, switched over his loyalty to the PML (Q)-backed Khushhal Pakistan panel.

He announced the decision in a press conference in the presence of Nawab Shabbir Ahmed Chandio, the KPP’s nominee for slot of district nazim of Qambar-Shahdadkot.

Prominent PPP leaders Eid Mohammed Brohi and Ali Hassan Brohi also deserted the party and joined the PML-Q.

Some councillors of the ADP had also clandestinely lent support to the KPP, the sources said.
