LAHORE: Barrister Hassaan Niazi has sent a legal notice to Amina Usman Malik seeking an unconditional public apology for tarnishing his reputation through slanderous allegations.

After actor Uzma Khan engaged Barrister Niazi to represent her in a criminal case she got registered against Ms Malik and two daughters of a property tycoon, Ms Malik in a video message accused the lawyer of having a personal spat with Malik Riaz Husain.

Denying the allegation, Barrister Niazi, in his legal notice, demands the woman publish, broadcast and circulate an unconditional apology within 14 days or be ready to face legal actions including a suit for damages.

Earlier, Malik Riaz also served a legal notice to Barrister Niazi for allegedly defaming and wrongly involving him in the actor’s case.

However, the actor and her sister Huma Khan withdrew their charges against Amber Malik, Pashmina Malik, and Amina Usman Malik.

On Tuesday, Uzma and her sister told a judicial magistrate that they did not want to pursue the case anymore. They said the case was a result of some misunderstanding.

In her statement, Huma said the women had not made any torture on her and the injuries she sustained were due to fallen glass from table.

Defence-C police station had on May 27 registered the FIR of the alleged incident against the women and their 15 private security guards on charges of attacking the actor and her sister after breaking into their house.
