SUKKUR: Activists of student organisations and civil society took out rallies and held demonstrations in several Sindh towns on Sunday in protest against issuance of fake domiciles and permanent residence certificates to non-natives.

Members of Sindh Mature Society and Sons of Sindh held a large protest in front of Sukkur press club and demanded stern action against the officials involved in the shameful practice.

The protesters’ leaders said that holders of fake domiciles had occupied resources and jobs of people of Sindh while Sindhi youths were deprived of getting education in reputable public institutions and were being neglected in jobs.

They demanded immediate cancellation of all fake domiciles and PRCs which were issued throughout the province after payment of bribe to corrupt officials.

They demanded cancellation of all jobs and admissions given on the basis of the fake documents and provision of jobs to educated youths of Sindh who were originally entitled to them.

HYDERABAD: Activists of Sindh Hari Committee staged a demonstration at Hyder Chowk on Sunday in protest against issuance of fake domiciles to outsiders.

The committee head Samar Jatoi Jatoi said that Sindhis were being deprived of their right to domiciles and regretfully even during coronavirus pandemic fake domiciles were being issued to outsiders.

He saw it as part of a conspiracy to convert Sindhis into minority and asked Sindh government to immediately cancel all such documents to ensure justice to locals. If it was not done the committee would stage province-wide protests, he warned.

SHIKARPUR: A large number of citizens, students, members of social organisations and civil society took out rallies and held demonstrations in protest against unabated issuance of fake domiciles to non-natives.

The protesters’ leaders advocate Zaffar Ali Channa, Zahid Bhambhro, Imran Mangi and others said the shameful practice had deprived Sindhi youths of admission to reputable educational institutions, jobs in civil services, participation in competitive examinations, placement to special political posts, armed forces, jobs in private companies like Thar Coal, PARCO and other important sectors.

They termed it a sinister conspiracy against natives of Sindh that allowed non-natives to get domiciles and PRCs and seize control of lucrative positions in the province at the expense of locals.

They demanded authorities concerned immediately cancel all the fake documents, de-notify the jobs given on the basis of such documents and take legal action against all the officials involved in the shameful practice.

They demanded transparency in domicile and PRC record and alleged that corrupt revenue officials were issuing the domiciles in return for huge bribes.

The protesters warned that the protest movement would be stepped up and they would block highways and move court as a last resort if the fake documents were not cancelled at the earliest.

MITHI: A large number of workers of Qaumi Awami Tehreek took out a rally and staged a demonstration at Kashmir Chowk on Sunday to register protest against issuance of fake domiciles and PRCs to outsiders.

Advocate Shahnawaz Hingorjo, Danish Parmar, Subhan Bajeer and others who led the protest told journalists that all the documents including domiciles and PRCs issued to people from other provinces be cancelled after proper probe.

They alleged that a large number of people having the fake documents had got jobs in mining companies in Tharparkar district. They warned chief executive officers of the firms to terminate services of such employees and provide the jobs in their place to locals.

They demanded stern action against all the officials involved in the shameful practice.
