PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police chief Dr Sanaullah Abbasi has directed the Kohat police to accelerate efforts for elimination of organised criminal groups in the district and the neighbouring Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision.

The police chief issued the direction at a ceremony held at the Central Police Office to honour the Kohat police for their role against the criminals, according to a statement issued here on Sunday.

The IGP awarded Kohat police officers and jawans on exhibiting excellent performance against terrorists, extortionists, and other criminals. He said the achievements they made spoke high of their professional acumen.

Dr Abbasi expressed his desire that the Kohat police would continue to work with the same spirit and motivation to eradicate the menace of organised crimes from the region.

The IGP also lauded the efforts of the district police in effectively tackling terrorism and narcotics smuggling. He directed police to expedite their efforts to eliminate social evils and pave way for building a peaceful and prosperous society.
