KARAK, Sept 8: Provincial Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Malik Zafar Azam has said that the government would take all possible steps to provide basic education to every citizen. He was speaking as chief guest at a function on the “World Literacy Day” that was organized by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) here on Thursday.

The function was attended by executive officers of Schools and Literacy and Health and Social Welfare departments, former-elected representatives, religious scholars, teachers and local notables.

Malik Zafar Azam said that literacy was the key to success. Islam also stressed on literacy and made binding on every Muslim, irrespective of gender, to acquire education.

“Only an educated mother can effectively bring up her children properly. Unless every woman is educated, we can not record any remarkable development”, he observed.
