RAWALPINDI: The district administration on Wednesday imposed a complete lockdown in Murree, during Eidul Fitr; all hotels and restaurants will remain closed to avoid spread of Covid-19. People have been asked not to travel towards Murree, during the holidays.

Talking to Dawn, Deputy Commissioner retired Capt Anwarul Haq said: “Nobody willbe allowed to go to Murree during Eid holidays, only local residents will be allowed to go to their hometowns. This measure has been taken to protect the citizens in view of the unusual rush of citizens in public and recreational places and the danger from spread of coronavirus, due to movement of passengers in hotels.”

He said police check posts have been established on the roads of Murree. “Citizens should not turn to Murree for tourism. Murree citizens will be allowed to enter after showing their computerized national identity card,” he added.
