National Party Senator Mir Kabeer Ahmed Muhammad Shahi has said that the reason behind the government's failure to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the country is that it refused to listen to [opposition's] advice.

"When the virus started in China, we told the government to become proactive on the issue of returning pilgrims but no one listened to us," he said while criticising the government for making Taftan a "nursery of coronavirus".

He called for increasing the testing capacity, saying that it was the only way to contain the virus.
