KARACHI, Sept 6: The Karachi table tennis championship will be played at the Islamia Club from Sept 10 to 14, secretary, Karachi Table Tennis Association (KTTA), Javed Chotani announced on Tuesday.

The event which is being revived after a lapse of a decade will be contested in men’s and women team events, men’s singles and doubles, women’s singles and doubles, and junior individual event for school boys and girls.

The last date for submission of entries is Sept 8 and the draws will be taken out the same evening.

It may be mentioned that the city of Karachi has served as the biggest nursery of the game and unearthed a large number of international players including women, in the past.

The sport has now reached all-time lowest ebb globally due to the apathy of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation hierarchy.
