PESHAWAR, Sept 6: The Defence Day was observed with traditional fervour and solemnity in all cantonments in the province on Tuesday. Special durbars were held in Peshawar, Mardan, Risalpur, Cherat, Nowshera, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Isamil Khan, Landi Kotal, Parachinar, Wana and Miranshah.

According to a press release, a ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Capt Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Nishan-i-Haider in Swabi district to pay homage to the celebrated hero of Kargil.

Brig Zafarullah Khan, Commander Logistic Area, placed floral wreath at the mazar and offered Fateha. A contingent of the Baloch Regiment saluted and paid respect to the officer.
