HYDERABAD, Sept 6: The Defence Day was celebrated with zeal and national spirit in the interior of Sindh on Tuesday. Hyderabad GOC Maj-Gen Mohammad Mustafa inaugurated defence equipment display at the Army Sports Stadium.

A large number of people, school and college students witnessed display and evinced keen interest in the army equipment.

Rich tribute was paid to the heroes of the nation.

Highlights of the day included a demonstration by a well trained anti-terrorist squad which displayed anti terrorist techniques and skills.

General public, students and media representatives were given briefing about military equipment and a detailed information on recruitment in army and other services by selection and recruitment agencies.

MIRPURKHAS: The Defence Day was observed on Tuesday while no programme was held by district administration.

Office-bearers of the Special Sports and Welfare Association Javed Malik, vice-president Abdul Hafiz, press secretary Qamaruddin Malik laid flower wreaths on graves of martyrs of the Pakistan army at Fuji graveyard situated in Satellite town and offered Fateha. They distributed sweets on behalf of their association.
