The Punjab government has extended the provincial lockdown until May 31 with additional exemptions, as per the decisions taken during the National Coordination Committee (NCC) meeting on May 7.

According to a notification shared on its Twitter account, the following businesses will be allowed to open for four days a week from 8am to 5pm whereas general and medical stores will remain open throughout the week:

  • Businesses related to the construction sector subject to their adoption of SOPs
  • All retail shops except large shopping malls
  • All hair salons, barbershops and gyms

Public transport, educational institutions and restaurants (except take away and home delivery) will continue to remain closed.
