South Korea's virus response pushes Moon Jae-in's rating to a historic high

Although there are many confirmed cases of Covid-19 in South Korea, President Moon Jae-in's approval rating has by two percentage points to 44 per cent.

During the Mers crisis, the previous President Park Geun-hye's approval rating had fallen sharply to 29pc due to inadequate management the Mers infection.
