ISLAMABAD, Sept 6: The Privatization Commission (PC) is all set to hold bidding for the sale of machinery of Bolan Textile Mills here on September 15. It is a project of Iran Pakistan Industries (Pvt) Ltd (IPI) situated at Baleli near Quetta airport, Balochistan, an official announcement issued here on Tuesday said.

The machinery of Bolan Textile Mills included that of spinning, weaving, processing and auxiliaries, and is being offered for sale on “as is where is” basis through a competitive process.

The machinery is a part of a fully integrated unit of 50,000 spindles, 1,100 looms with complete dyeing and finishing facilities of about 80,000 metres per day production capacity of variable widths ranging from 36 inches to 96 inches.

The plant started production in January 1980 but was closed down in 1983.

The bidding documents for the sale of assets on “as is where is basis” were made available to the parties who submitted Expressions of Interest (EoIs) with the required non-refundable fee.

The PC received 26 EoIs from interested parties. All of them have been asked to deposit the required earnest money by September 9, to become eligible for participation in the bidding process.
