Faisal Edhi — son of world-famous philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and chairman of the Edhi Foundation — said that he has tested negative for the coronavirus.

Speaking to Dawn, he clarified that this is the first test of his that has come back negative. "I had my samples taken at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences today, the results of which are expected within the next two days."

According to Edhi, he is not showing any Covid-19 symptoms, but was feeling weak. He maintained that he wished to return to Karachi but was waiting for the results of the second test.

Edhi had been diagnosed with the illness on April 21 and had chosen to self-isolate in Islamabad.
