Khyber Pakhtunkhwa health and finance minister Taimur Khan Jhagra responded to criticism from PPP over the province's handling of the coronavirus outbreak, telling them to "please take their politics elsewhere".

In a series of tweets, he said: "Don't shed tears on national unity, yet take potshots at how our brave doctors do their jobs. That's not on.

"In KP, we never pointed fingers at the flaws of others; in a national emergency, we have tried to be above the fray. But this isn't the first time KP is being used as PPP's political pawn for Covid-19. You've made your party extinct here. Please take your politics elsewhere."

He added that judging based on fatality rates only worked "if you know the denominator".
