KARACHI: A kite string claimed the life of a young boy in Nazimabad on Saturday evening, police and rescue services said.

They added that Sufyan Sikandar, around two years old, was travelling with his parents on a motorbike when a kite string slit his neck at Nazimabad No. 2 near the Nadra office. He sustained critical injuries and died soon.

The body was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to fulfil legal formalities.

An Edhi spokesperson said the family were on their way somewhere from Khokhrapar when the tragedy struck.

Gulbahar SHO Mansoor Ali said that the police were trying to ascertain the area where the kites were flying to take legal action against the culprits.
