PML and JUI reach accord in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR, Sept 4: A new election alliance between PML’s Khushhal Pakistan Panel and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-backed Insan Dost Panel has been formed to contest elections for district and taluka nazims.

A joint meeting of the two groups was held on Sunday.

Federal Minister for Narcotics, Ghous Bux Mahar and PML central vice-president Imtiaz Shaikh and JUI-F district president Maulana Abdullah Pahore, Maulana Nisar Memon and Maulvi Bakhtullah Pahore were present on the occasion.

The meeting decided to support candidates of both panels for seat of district and taluka nazims and naib nazims.

Former district naib nazim Zafar Ali Shaikh was nominated as candidate for taluka nazim Shikarpur and Maulvi Bakhtullah Pahore of the IDP for taluka naib nazim.

The Shaikh group and the IDP will support Arif Mahar for the district nazim.

Leaders of the two panels resolved to support the IDP candidates for reserved seats of councillors in Shikarpur and Lakhi taluka council.

The candidates for taluka nazim and naib nazim Khanpur will be taken after consultation of the panels soon.
