HYDERABAD, Sept 4: The Board of Revenue Sindh has decided to evolve a mechanism for redressing public grievances at the district level and to check malpractices of unscrupulous and corrupt revenue staff. The decision was taken at a recent meeting of the board in Karachi.

Senior member, Board of Revenue, Syed Anwaar Haider presided over the meeting.

The meeting decided to take action against land grabbers and land mafia.

It decided about renewal of 99 years expired leases to safeguard valuable state land and expeditious disposal of cases, allotment of land to lower grade government servants under the Land Grant Policy and defending cases relating to revenue matters pending in various courts.

Aijaz Hussain Kazi, Khalid Mehmood Soomro, Shafqat Hussain Talpur and Qasim Lashari attended the meeting.

DCO: DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed has said that an amount of Rs40 million has been allocated by district government Hyderabad for providing computer and furniture facilities to students and teaching staff at government schools in the district.

This he said while handing over first consignment of computers and furniture to EDO education Abdul Majeed Hur, during his visit to newly-established Mehran Government Girls High School Qasimabad phase-II on Saturday.

He said the district government had planned to improve standard of education by enhancing capacity building of teaching community with provision of latest equipment facilities essentially required for standard education at each government school.

He said multi-dimensional steps including introduction of teachers training programmes, provision of latest equipments, involvement of community in supervision of schools under school management committee, incentives to students and teachers were being taken to strengthen government schools and bring them at par with private schools.

The DCO said Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim was taking keen interest to achieve targets of quality education in the province.
