A 45-year-old man, who was also a drug addict, died after he jumped from the third floor at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).

Initially, the man was suspected to have contracted the coronavirus. However, his test results showed that he was not suffering from the illness.

According to JPMC Executive Director Dr Seemin Jamali, the man was brought to the hospital from Landhi on Sunday night and was shifted to the isolation ward after his X-ray indicated that he might be infected with the virus.

The man jumped off the third floor of the building and sustained a head wound. He died while undergoing treatment for the injury, Jamali said.
