THATTA: In an impressive show of goodwill upholding humanistic values, a group of differently abled people coming from other districts visited various towns and villages of Thatta and distributed relief goods among their counterparts here on Friday.

After arriving in Thatta city by a minibus, the special citizens, several of them using crutches or wheelchairs, moved into villages of Sanwalpur, Gul Manda, Gujjo, Gharo and Makli to help people with disabilities by providing them food, water and other kitchen commodities they desperately needed in this testing time of lockdown.

Associated with the Disable Welfare Association, they said they wanted to share the pain of helplessness with their counterparts everywhere in the province and help them out. They said their association in coordination with the Alwani Trust arranged the tour to fulfil their wish.

DWA president Javed Raees, and AT chairman Hameed Alwani accompanied the group in the tour.

Impressed by the guests’ initiative, residents of the area also contributed generously to the goods distributed among special citizens.
