Planning Minister Asad Umar announced that the government has decided to extend the countrywide lockdown imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus by 15 days.
Addressing a news conference at the National Command and Operation Centre, he said the restrictions will now remain in place until May 9.
The decision was taken after consultation with all the provincial governments, he added.
