Bhagwandas acting CJ

KARACHI, Sept 2: Justice Rana Bhagwandas, senior most judge of the Supreme Court, took oath as acting Chief Justice of Pakistan at a simple and impressive ceremony held at the Karachi registry on Friday.

Justice Saiyed Saeed Ashhad of the apex court administered the oath. Acting Governor Sindh Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, acting Chief Justice of Sindh Justice Ghulam Rabbani, all the judges of the Sindh High Court, district and sessions judges and Attorney-General Barrister Makhdoom Ali Khan attended the ceremony.

Justice Bhagwandas will be serving as acting chief justice during Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaurdry’s 10-day official visit to China.—APP
