CHAKWAL: A man has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a teenage boy in the Balkassar village, in the limits of the Saddar police,on Sunday.

Police said the victim is a ninth grade student who was attacked as he left the village mosque.

They said he used to visit the mosque for lessons, but had refused to leave his home for two days.

He told his brother that when he left the mosque a couple of days ago, a man in the street took him to a deserted house by claiming he would give him a kite.

The man sexually assaulted him and threatened him with dire consequences if he told anyone what had happened.

The police have arrested the suspect after registering a case against him.

Separately, another individual has been arrested for attempted rape in Sehgalabad village.

The victim told police she was alone at home when the suspect stormed in and forced her into a room.

She said the suspect tried to rape her, but fled after she loudly tried to resist. The suspect has yet to be arrested.
