DADU, Sept 2: The 753rd annual Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz will be held in Sehwan Sharif from 18 to 20 of Shauban. This was decided at a meeting at the irrigation rest-house Sehwan on Friday.

The meeting was presided over by Jamshoro DCO Qabool Ahmed Shaikh.

EDO revenue Akbar Leghari, TPO Sehwan, officials of Auqaf, education and health departments were present in the meeting.

Five sub-committees were formed to look after arrangements for electricity, drainage, supply of sweet water, health facilities and law and order.

Owing to the division of the Dadu district, it was decided that arrangements of cultural show, children show, Adabi conference, Malakhro will be covered by the administration of the Dadu district.

Mazar’s project director Aijaz Mangi has warned the contractor to complete construction work before Urs, otherwise, action will be taken against him.

The project director told reporters that priority had been given to construction work of Mazar which would be completed before starting of Urs.

He said all facilities would be provided to devotees.

HUNGER STRIKE: Ten farmers of the Pir Gunio waterway of Dadu Taluka observed hunger strike unto death before the office of executive engineer southern division Dadu on Friday.

They include Niaz Panhwar, Allah Bachayo, Ali Nawaz, Aziz Jamali, Shir Babar, Mansoor, Allah Bux and Jalal.

They were protesting against artificial shortage of water in Pir Gunio waterway.
