KARAK: Khattak Ittehad, a local rights organisation, has said that the issue of overbilling and power outages in the district would be resolved soon, hinting at formation of a committee to take up all issues related to electricity supply with high-ups of Peshawar Electric Supply Company.

Talking to mediapersons here the other day, the rights body district president Maulana Mirzaqeem and its other office-bearers said that they had held a meeting with Pesco superintendent engineer Gohar Bangash and discussed with him suggestions related to ending loadshedding in the district.

They claimed that people of the district had been facing over 18 hours power outages daily, which had also created shortage of drinking water.

They said the elders agreed with the SE to form a committee on the district level for finding solution to the issues of unscheduled outages and overbilling. They said that Pesco would instal new meters for the consumers.

The rights body office-bearers said the Pesco would subtract undue fines from the monthly power bills and the consumers would deposit only the real amount of bills to the company.
