KOHAT: The district administration here has confiscated substandard sanitisers which had no price tags and company names.

Additional assistant commissioner-I Tahir Ali inspected and collected samples of various brands of sanitisers from medical and general stores and send them for the laboratory test.

The action had been taken after reports that low quality sanitisers without any branding were being sold in the market.

Dr Zainul Abideen has termed the homemade masks being sold in the streets as harmful for health, saying they might cause allergies. He said they could not protect users fromCovid-19 and only medical masks were suitable for the purpose.

Keeping in view demand for medical masks, the IDPs and Afghan refugees have started selling home-sewedmasks of thick cloth in local bazaars. These masks are being sold for Rs20 per piece.

PROTECTION KITS: Former tehsil councillor of Ustarzai Dr Zulfiqar has donated protection kits to the staff of regional control room at Rescue 15 corona helpline.

The kits were received by Inspector Nazar Abbas in the presence of vice-president of PTI youth wing Shafi Jan.

Meanwhile, sector-wise distribution of cash of Ehsas Sahulat Programme started under elaborate security with the deployment of 1,500 joint police and army teams on Thursday.

Easar Ali Bangash, a social worker, said that a large number of people were not aware of the programme and would now start their registration after seeing the people receiving the help.

District police officer Mansoor Aman told mediapersons at launching ceremony of the programme at DC office that 37 distribution points had been set up in the district.

COMPENSATION: Deputy commissioner, Orakzai district, Wasil Khan Khattak distributed Rs1.3 million cash compensation among the parents of four children who died in the house collapse incident earlier this month.

The DC and MNA Jawad Hussain gave away cheques to the families of the victims at Darra Minakhel on Thursday.

The relatives of the deceased were given Rs300,000 each on behalf of the government while one injured was paid Rs100,000.
