LAHORE, Aug 31: A local anti-narcotics court on Wednesday sentenced Sheikh Taj Din to death and his son Sheikh Shahid Husain to life imprisonment in a drug case. Headed by judge Pervez Ali Chawla, the court also handed down a fine of Rs1 million to the father and Rs300,000 to the son. They were arrested on March 15, 2003, from near Sangla Hill and a consignment of poppy straw weighing 12,288 kilogrammes was found from the truck they were riding in.
