FOR those who are posting their selfies wearing masks, let me just remind them that hospitals around the world are running out of personal protective equipment.

But people taking selfies wearing masks have a choice to stay home. If they need to go out, they should keep social distance, try not to touch their face and, most importantly, should wash their hands.

They do not need to wear a mask as long as they maintain distance with other people. To see them wearing a mask for a selfie in the comfort of their homes and letting others know how they are in ‘quarantine’ is an insult to the men and women trapped in the hospitals wearing the same personal protective equipment over and over.
