BUNER: A man who died of coronavirus infection in Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar, on Wednesday night was laid to rest while observing the relevant protocols in Dewana Baba graveyard of Gagra tehsil in Buner district on Thursday.

The deceased, Khanimullah, 70, had returned home about 20 days ago from Sindh where he had gone with a Tableeghi Jamaat. He was buried in the presence of only eight of his close family members.

The protection suits of the district health team, employees of Gagra tehsil administration and others were disposed of according to the laid down procedure.

Gagra tehsil AC Sajid Nawaz claimed that the deceased was shifted to the DHQ hospital, Daggar, on Wednesday, but due to his worsening condition he was taken to LRH where he died.

Coronavirus district focal person Dr Tariq Khan confirmed that the lab report of late Khanimullah showed him as coronavirus positive.
