LAKKI MARWAT: The local administration has started rigorous checking of vehicles at the entry points of the district after receiving complaints about transportation of passengers in trucks in violation of the guidelines and instructions to prevent spread of coronavirus.

After receiving complaints, deputy commissioner Abdul Haseeb along with ADC Noorul Amin reached the checkposts the other day and checked vehicles.

The authorities did not find any passenger travelling in goods transport vehicles. However, they asked the policemen on duty to be vigilant and check vehicles entering the district.

The deputy commissioner said that the government and people would defeat the coronavirus pandemic through joint efforts.

He said that no one would be allowed to travel in goods transport vehicles. He also warned the goods transporters to avoid providing commuting service to the people.

The deputy commissioner also visited Lakki city and other towns to inspect the implementation of lockdown, social distancing and other preventive measures.

Meanwhile, district police officer Abdul Rauf Baber has reshuffled three police officers.

Sub-inspector Furqan Javed awaiting posting replaced Tajori SHO SI Ayaz Khan who was transferred and posted as SHO Serial Gambila police station.

Serai Gambila SHO sub-inspector Irfanullah Khan was transferred and posted as in-charge officer of the Quick Response Force.

LABOUR WING: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf district chief Johar Mohammad Khan announced office-bearers of the party’s local labour wing during a meeting of governing body here the other day.

The new office-bearers include Malik Ishaq president, Ismail general secretary, Wahab Gul and Yousaf Khan senior vice-presidents and Bahadar Khan, Arab Khan and Ibrahim as vice-presidents.
