OKARA: Attendants of three patients were booked for allegedly harassing duty doctors, nurses and other staffers besides breaking windowpanes of the emergency block at the HQ hospital on Wednesday.

As per first information report lodged on the complaint of admin officer Asif Ali, three patients Shaheen Akhtar, Ghulam Ali and Quratul Ain were brought to the emergency ward from different city localities in a critical condition. All were treated but could not survive.

The family members of these patients started a hue and cry in the ward, manhandled the staff and damaged the windowpanes.

City A-division police have registered a case against attendants of three patients under sections 427, 343, 506 and 186 of the PPC.

CASE REGISTERED: Two men were booked for allegedly attempting to collect money from the poor on the pretext of managing monetary help under the Chief Minister Insaf Imdad programme.

According to the FIR got registered by ASI Sher Muhammad, Hujra Shah Moqeem police received information that some men were making announcements through village mosque and asking people to come with Rs50 and CNIC for getting themselves enrolled to relief package.

On seeing the police suspects [later identified as Muhammad Azam and Muhammad Afzal] managed their escape.

Police have registered a case against them under sections 420, 34 of the PPC and section 6 of the Punjab Sound System (Regulation) Act 2015.
