FAISALABAD, Aug 28: Opposition parties, mainly PPP and PML-N, are discussing names of candidates for the slots of nazim and naib nazim for Lyallpur, Madina, Iqbal and Jinnah towns from where they won a good number of seats.

PPP-backed Awam Dost Group leaders meet here on Monday to take up the names of potential candidates.

PPP MPA and Divisional Coordinator Raja Riaz Ahmed is a strong candidate for City District Nazim. However, another PPP activist, Ijaz Virk advocate, is in the race for getting the party ticket for the same office.

PPP and PML-N have already announced to field joint candidates for the City District Nazim and all its eight towns.
