ISLAMABAD, Aug 27: The Election Commission of Pakistan, on the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, has sought the details of all those candidates who possessed sanads and won during the first and second phase of local body polls.

Sources said on Saturday that record of the academic certificates of candidates remained in the possession of returning officers and therefore the notification of the results of the first phase of local body polls was made including those who qualified on sanads. But, later on the Supreme Court directed the election commission not to issue the notification of those candidates who were having sanads. Under the SC directives the election commission has sought the record from the returning officers off all those candidates who had sanads.—Online
