SHEIKHUPURA, Aug 26: Two people were killed while four others suffered serious injuries when an iron girder fell on them while working in a steel mill on the Lahore-Sheikhupura road, some 20 kilometres from here, on Friday.

Supervisors Ilyas and Iqbal along with labourers Aslam, Ramzan, Imran and Nazar Husain were working in the New Shalimar Steel Mill along with labourers Aslam, Ramzan, Imran and Nazar Husain when the accident took place. Ilyas and Iqbal died on the spot while Nazar, Imran, Aslam and Ramzan sustained injuries. They were removed to the Mayo Hospital, Lahore, due to serious injuries. The factory area police are investigating.
