KARACHI, Aug 25: A workshop on the current trends in flowering plant taxonomy will be held at the University of Karachi on Aug 29. This was announced by a KU spokesman on Thursday.

According to him, the moot was being organized by the Department of Botany, University of Karachi, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The vice-chancellor of the University of Karachi, Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the workshop.

The vice-chancellor of Kohat University of Science and Technology, Prof Dr Zabta Khan Shinwari, will also speak on the occasion.

The dean of Karachi University’s Science Faculty, Prof Dr Mohammad Qaiser, will present the welcome address.

Vote of thanks will be presented by the chairman Department of Botany, Prof Dr S. Shahid Shaukat.—APP
