LAHORE: The PML-N has submitted a privilege motion to the Punjab Assembly seeking a thorough investigation into the alleged embezzlement of funds to the tune of Rs1 billion in the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF).

Filed by PML-N lawmaker Rabia Farooqi, the motion said that with collusion of the NGOs and bureaucrats fake record of 287,000 students admission was shown in the schools registered with PEF. It said a sum of Rs1bn loss had been caused to the national exchequer which should be investigated and those involved in it bring to justice.

SANA: PML-N Punjab President Rana Sanaullah has said Prime Minister Imran Khan should be behind bars for alleged foreign funding and destroying economy.

“I it is for the first time the government’s own ministers are contradicting each other on the health of Nawaz Sharif. This does not come as a surprise for Imran Niazi as his his rented mouthpieces are also certified liars and fraudsters,” he said in a statement here on Monday.

The former law minister said Dr Yasmin Rashid had categorically pointed out that Firdous Ashiq Awan was a liar when she said that Mr Sharif’s medical reports were fake.

“Ms Awan should concentrate on revival of the economy destroyed by PTI instead of politicising Mr Sharif’s health,” he said, adding Mr Sharif went abroad for medical treatment after completing all legal obligations. Nawaz Sharif would return as soon as he recovered, he said.

Sana said no compromise would be made on his health no matter how much it irked Imran Niazi.
