TAXILA: Special Assistant to the PM on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Zulfi Bukhari on Sunday claimed that foreign investment had gone up in the country due to what he claimed effective and investment-friendly policies of the PTI government.

Speaking at a ceremony held to inaugurate gas supply to Chhapri village, he said the government was working hard to bring prosperity in the country.

He said several overseas Pakistanis were now willing to invest in the country.

He said the government sent 900,000 Pakistanis abroad for jobs last year and this year it would send at least 1.2 million people abroad for employment, adding that the people were travelling to Japan, Romania and Qatar for employment.

Mr Bukhari said the country had been put on the right track under the honest leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. He said that due to efforts of the prime minister and his economic team the national economy was improving gradually.

Talking about development of the area, he said that this area had been badly ignored by previous governments, but that would not happen during the PTI government as it believed in development of all areas and it did not believe in discrimination.

He said the government would release funds for development of all areas and problems of all areas would be solved on priority basis.

He said that Khunda to Jand Road and Jand Road to Bela Road would be re-carpeted soon.

Public Accounts Committee chairman Syed Yawar Abbas Bokhari, Qazi Ahmed Akbar and others also spoke on the occasion.
