PESHAWAR: Members of minority communities on Friday demonstrated against the violence on Muslims in India and urged the world to help stop the bloodshed.

The protest led by minority MPAs Wazirzada, Ravi Kumar and Sikh community leaders was held outside the Peshawar Press Club. The protesters were shouting slogans in support of the Pak Army and against Indian Prime Minister Naredra Modi and the Hindu extremist groups. They held banners and placards inscribed with demands to stop the brutalities immediately.

Talking to mediapersons, the protesters urged the UN to help stop the killing of Muslims and burning of their houses in India and ensure compensation of the affected families. They also asked for an immediate end to the prolonged curfew in the Indian-occupied Kashmir and resolution of the dispute as per UN resolutions.

“All the minority groups will hold rallies outside the UN office if the violence in India is not stopped forthwith,” Ravi Kumar said.

Mr Wazirzada condemned the atrocities in Kashmir and different parts of India and described the violence a bad omen for the country’s future. He said state-terrorism against Muslims would head the country towards disintegration. He said the world community should help stop the bloodshed in India.
