PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday said progress was being made on the establishment of various industrial zones across the province.
Speaking at a meeting here, he said setting up of special economic zones in Rashakai, Hattar, Dera Ismail Khan and Buner, Mohmand Marble City, and similar projects would prove to be a milestone for the economic stability of the province, according to a statement issued here.
Mahmood Khan said the completion of Dera Ismail Khan Expressway and CRBC lift canal project would start a new phase of development and prosperity in the southern districts.
He said a number of reforms had been initiated for strengthening the institutions. He said steps were being taken to exploit the mines and mineral potential of the province to improve the economy.
The chief minister said the provincial government had given the tourism sector the industry status as for the first time a tourism authority was being set up to develop the tourist spots. He said promotion of tourism and other industries would help generate revenue for economic stability.
