DHAKA, Aug 23: Banned Islamic militant group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, blamed for hundreds of bomb blasts across Bangladesh last week, has warned it will strike again unless Bangladesh introduces Islamic rule.

“This is the third invitation to the government of Bangladesh ... if (it) fails to establish the Islamic law or try to arrest any member of Jamatul Mujahideen Bangladesh ... (we) will take direct action,” the group said in a statement on its website.

“...we invite the ruling party and also the opposition to initiate the rule of Islam within a short time in Bangladesh,” the statement said.—Reuters
