PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa professors and lecturers association of government colleges on Monday warned to launch protest demonstrations across the province if the government further delayed implementation of a five-tier promotion formula.

Association’s president Abdul Hameed Afridi said further delay in implementing the formula would spread unrest among the teachers’ community, according to a statement.

He said the provincial cabinet had approved the promotion formula on May 9, 2019, which was later on notified. However, he said despite lapse of nine months, the provincial government had failed to implement it.
