LONDON: Comprehensive plans for the final defeat of Germany, her occupation and disarmament including “break up for all time of the German General staff” are announced in a joint Churchill-Roosevelt-Stalin statement issued on Monday [Feb 12] night.

The statement, which discloses that the “Big Three” eight-day Conference took place at Yalta in Crimea, provides for the removal of all German military equipment, control of German industry and bringing of war criminals to justice. France is to be invited to play her part with Britain, Russia and the United States in this task. The Nazi party and Nazi organisations are to be wiped out...

The Three Powers will each occupy a separate zone in Germany. Co-ordination will be through a central control commission with headquarters in Berlin. France will be invited to take a zone of occupation, if desired. Also announced are plans agreed for the establishment of post-war Poland and an early settlement in Yugoslavia. A Charter of a Peace and Security organisation on the lines of the Dumbarton Oaks talks is to be prepared at a conference of United Nations to be called at San Francisco next April... The first German reaction to the Crimea Con­fe­rence for home consumption was issued today... “Chief war criminals, Churchill, Roosevelt and Sta­lin agree on new crime to humanity”...
