KARACHI: Eight horses will battle it out for honours in the Kashmir Day Cup, which takes place in the winter Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse here on Sunday.

The scale order V and VI race which is fourth in racing order will go over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The Karachi Race Club (KRC) did not lag behind the nation to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people as it has named the entire six-race card after Kashmir Day Plates including the cup.

The days feature event, scale order II and III combined race which is the sixth and last in order has half-a-dozen contestants and will be contested over four-and-a-half furlongs.

Similarly, the fifth and supporting event scale order IV will also go over four-and-a-half furlongs.

The first three races of six-race card will be run over four furlongs.

Meanwhile, a good number of 47 horses will be seen in action barring last-minute withdrawal(s).

The first race starts at 2:00pm.
